I've made more size gains in 3 weeks of GVT than 3 weeks of any other training program. I've made more strength gains on 3 weeks of Westside than any other training program. Different styles work at different times for different goals with different people.
It's entirely possible that your muscles don't respond to volume, but that doesn't mean other peoples' don't.
It's not like anyone's preaching for nothing but volume training... that wouldn't make sense. But it has its place.
I multiplied out and added up the total amount of weight I lifted in one week of GVT. If memory serves correctly, it was just short of 100,000 pounds. If you throw around 100k pounds in the gym in one week, it's gonna force muscle adaption.
