First let me say. I really really dont like close minded people. And reading what im saying i know i may be comming off that way. but i assure you im not. I wouldnt be advocating such a low volume program if i was.

People just arent that diffrent. The whole "what works for one person, dosent work for another" dosent cut it for me. There is so little genetic diversity amongst the human race. I cant fathom one person getting optimal results at one light set per body part several times a week. and then someone else getting optimal results doing 20 sets/bodypart once every 10 days. It just dosent work out.

If this were not true, and people were that diffrent, athletic training studies would go almost no where. You would never be able to come to a conclusion about anything. The results would just not be repeatable.

While i dont believe there is one way to train at all times. I believe that there is one way to train at a given time.

That is to say two people at two diffrent points of training expierience would train diffrently. but if they were at similar points of training expierience they would train much the same.

and i sincerely believe that low volume is the way to go. If you put 350 lbs on your back and squat it for 20 reps. Barely getting out the last 7. Your going to grow. Anything after that is just lunacy. Your just burning up glycogen and increasing your recovery time.

The growth response is static. You arent increasing its impact with more sets. It just dosent work that way.

However you can increase your recovery ability and finish recovering from microtrauma quicker, and thus have more frequent workouts. If you have increased your recovery ability through GPP work. Then imagine this

Now you recover faster and you go activate the growth response 3 times a week for each muscle. Thats about three times as often as the volume trainer is doing.

I believe in increasing frequency. Not volume.

I seriously believe this is a superior technique to volume training.
